Lucky 13 - Castle Vale Olympic 1 - 7 DKOS

DKOS maintained their 100% record this decade with an emphatic 7-1 win away to Castle Vale Olympic.

After a close game earlier in the season between the two sides, the boys were able to make things a bit more comfortable this time around - ending Olympic's long standing unbeaten home record in the process.

The away side made a fast start, setting the tone for the match to come.

After Matt Bishop's curler was tipped onto the bar, Joe Burke was on hand to poach a goal from close range.

DKOS were then able to strike while the iron was hot.

Harry Ellis made it two almost immediately afterwards, capitalising on a looping ball with another close range finish.

If there was an element of fortune about the first two goals, the third was trademark DKOS.

Ellis played the ball across to Marco Zizzi, who's deft through ball was latched onto by Jamie Gregory and his predatory instincts did the rest.

The second half followed a similar pattern to the first.

Relentless pressure from the forwards saw DKOS win the ball high up the pitch, and Ellis was on hand to grab his brace, slamming the ball home from just inside the box.

DKOS had already tried the intricate football, so decided to try their luck at a bit of route one.

Gregory raced onto keeper Nosa Omoigui's pinpoint kick (Ederson-like may have been floated around), and he had the composure to beat two defenders and the keeper - notching his twentieth goal of the season.

Olympic were able to grab a goal back after a free kick, but any hopes of a comeback were soon dashed.

Man of the match Matt Bishop put the cherry on top of his performance by scoring the goal of the day,  finding the postage stamp with his left foot after a corner.

Before the match was over, Gregory was able to win a penalty.

A hero was needed to step up and put it away, and one strode forward from the opposite goal. Omoigui strolled towards the ball with the confidence of a veteran striker, without a doubt in his mind as to what was about to happen. He reached deep inside the Olympic keeper's head to find a nice house to live in. When Olympic's keeper asked Omoigui for some rent money, he swiftly informed him that it wasn't coming. The DKOS stopper stroked the penalty into the bottom corner, keeping up his perfect record from the spot.

The win marks thirteen wins on the spin, and the team has no intention of slowing down any time soon.
