Unstoppable Form Train? - DKOS 3 - 0 Burntwood Victoria

DKOS continued their impressive recent form with a comfortable 3-0 victory at home to Burntwood Victoria - maintaining their unbeaten home record in the league. Another hat trick for Sam Ford saw off the away side, making it four wins on the bounce in the race for automatic promotion.

A very cautious first half saw no real chances for either side. DKOS were in control of the game, but weren't able to force a way through the Burntwood defence. Bad luck struck the side for the second week running as Charlie Madden was forced off with a dislocated shoulder. The gas and air in a and e sent him loopy, so he was on the mend by the end of the day.

After the interval, the home side raised their game enough to get the job done, without really getting out of second gear. Ford grabbed his first quickly after the restart, slotting the ball past a despairing Burntwood keeper.

He grabbed his second not long after, putting the result to bed and securing DKOS the three points. He grabbed his hat-trick after latching on to a delicious through ball from Alex Diego, before rounding the keeper and putting the ball into an empty net.

A professional performance from DKOS got the all important three points at Rectory Park. A tight back four of Brennan, Diego, Raworth and Hughes earned their clean sheet, thwarting any attempt of a Burntwood attack with ease.

It's important to keep the momentum going before a key run of fixtures; as well as playing top of the league this coming Sunday, DKOS have a Don Sheldon Cup semi final coming up on St. Patrick's Day. It's going to be tough going, but not a single member of this squad knows how to shirk away from a challenge.
